RECENT PRESS

I am thrilled to have had a few very lovely features in some of our best British bridal magazines over the past couple of months.

You & Your Wedding’s current September/October issue features the beautiful Matt & Jess whose wedding at The House Meadow I photographed last September. Their outdoor humanist wedding was picture perfect.

You & Your Wedding have also released a Real Weddings special and asked me for some advice on having your autumnal wedding photographed. I love the soft light of autumn and all of those rich hues, so I was very chuffed to have one from Sam & Lizzie’s wedding as a double page spread.

Wedding Magazine have interviewed Georgia Tolley, editor of Before the Big Day about her own two weddings and have included a couple from each celebration.

Brides magazine featured a herbal table arrangement from a very elegant Cotswolds wedding at Chavenage a little while back.

It’s always exciting to see our work in print and it makes an especially sweet keepsake for our couples to hold onto in the years to come, so thank you to all the editorial teams for all of these pretty features! It really means a lot.

There are an insanely busy few months ahead for us both as we approach August and September. Emma Jane is getting married not once but twice (to the same handsome man) and I am travelling to Sweden to witness it all between five of my own weddings to photograph. September also sees a French Field Trip with Feather & Stone photography whose film work is pure magic. If you might be interested in joining us, don’t hesitate to get in touch with them, here.  I think there may well be room for just one more person.

I’m off to Bordeaux this morning for a wedding at Chateau Rigaud tomorrow and still haven’t packed yet… better get going!

  • AN ELEGANT OUTDOOR WEDDING IN PROVENCE

On a calm summer’s day in August, when the sun shone warm on my skin, I travelled with cameras to Chateau Martinet and here is where this story begins. An elegant couple in love with each other, their guests cool and dressed to the nines, take seats in the shade and applaud with delight as these two wed under French pines. Champagne was served and kisses exchanged, well wishes and hugs were poured out and I had a beautiful, brilliant day, of that there was never a doubt…

  • A PARISIAN ENGAGEMENT

Tomorrow at 5am, I leave for Portugal to photograph these two love birds who are getting married on Saturday. Aren’t they just gorgeous? They’re so very much in love and their wedding day is going to be of internationality, with friends from all over the world. It’s also 27 degrees which should mean a welcome return of my freckles. I really can’t wait.

  • A WEDDING IN ZURICH

I am very lucky to be able to photograph weddings such as these. Sweet, intimate and so full of love and smiles. It also happened to be in Zürich, a city I had not visited until July. I think I’m in love with Switzerland.

Getting ready together, they were both the picture of calm…

…with a little edge of excitement.

Swiss civil ceremonies last just fifteen minutes, even when in French and English, which leaves plenty of time for tea and sightseeing on vintage trams…

There is something so special about grandparents. This lady reminded me of my own grandma and squeezed my hand and beamed when she caught my eye. She also had the cutest granddaughter who was not in the least bit fatigued by the blazing sunshine.

Thanh has a passion for all things culinary and gave everyone tiny kitchen utensils as gifts.

Isn’t she just the sweetest little thing?

After our trip to Switzerland, we’ve decided that one day we’ll move to Zürich and have lunch by the lake on Sundays with our new friends Thanh & Yvan. It’s a truly beautiful place; fresh and clean and content.

I still have a lot of editing to catch up on and a few more weddings and portraits to do before the year is out. I’m quite sad to see the autumn leaves on the ground but glad to have time to catch up on things through winter. It’s been a year of big changes, exciting challenges and huge rewards, but there’s a little more on all of that later.

    A RUFFLED BLOG FEATURE

I knew I would love Alex & Chris when we first spoke on the phone early last year. They’re designers and run their own studio, We Three Club, so I was very excited to see how much of their personalities they would bring to their wedding and when Alex told me she’d be wearing a vintage dress, I was in. They booked me right there and then on the phone without even needing to meet me, which for me is always a huge compliment. She also totally out-quiffed me with her gorgeous hair, scoring an easy 10/10 in the style stakes.

    AN ODE TO 2012

Sometimes when life gets busy, it’s easy to forget, the people and the places, the dusks and the sunsets. Those days through the year when you felt your heart beat, huge smiles from new people you were quite lucky to meet. Be still for a moment, just sit and recall, reflect on the absolute beauty of it all. Life is quite frantic and at times it’s quite sad, but these are the memories that make our souls glad.

This year I’ve been invited on a number of days, with camera in hand and finger ablaze, to witness small fragments of love and sheer bliss, a sum of thirty-eight weddings and they looked a lot like this…
