ALEXANDRA & NICHOLAS’ FRENCH WEDDING

A day of smiles, excitement and laughter, two promises to hold fast and a happily ever after. Alex & Nic, their beautiful families, my cameras and I and their friends from overseas. We all came together for a most emotional day, we watched and we clapped, we sang and we swayed. It felt like a film, the band played J’ysuis Jamais Allé and it became the soundtrack to a most incredible day…

Alex & Nic, thank you so much for trusting me to spend the day with you, to photograph your story and for a really lovely lunch in Sydney. It was an absolute pleasure.

Venue: L’abbaye de la Bussiere, Beaune // Planner: The Fantastic Celine at Piece Montee // Dress: Collette Dinnigan

This month is an exceptionally busy one with five weddings in France for me and a humanist ceremony in Kent too at the end of the month. I’m back and forth for the whole of September but will be picking up email and finishing up edits as quickly as possible.

This weekend Emma Jane is in York for a wedding festival with tipis and I’m just about to start packing for a flight to the south of France, for a very private wedding this weekend. It’s going to be sunny in London, but hopefully even sunnier in St Tropez.

I’ve worked hard as a Picture Editor during the week and managed to photograph my first five weddings on the weekends, too. I’ve made so many new friends and so many photos…  and I’ve loved it all.

  • AN APRIL ESCAPE

One week in April, we escaped to blue skies, a trip with no emails, just my husband and I. Some Arabic was learnt, pronunciation attempted, some photos were taken and our pockets were emptied. We ate and we wandered, for a few days we stayed, we were still for a moment and these memories we made.

…I have been seeing a lot of the sea.

An intimate wedding in Mallorca and an engagement session in Brighton has made it an exceptionally good week. Both had sunshine and couples really very much in love.

Today I’m going to be far away from the sea in the Great British city of London, photographing a wedding where Shakespeare used to wet his whistle. It’s raining and grey but I always feel like weddings are so much bigger than the weather. Two beautiful people are today committing themselves to each other, for life. Their friends and family will witness it all, smiling, laughing, drinking champagne, we’ll all eat cake, dance and celebrate. Really then, who cares if it rains?
