A BURGH HOUSE WEDDING

A quiet afternoon one Monday in spring, a wedding in Hampstead, two lovebirds and a ring. At Burgh House we gathered, on a most notable date, Gary arrived early and Clarisa was not late. They stood before friends and promised their hearts, we clapped and we grinned, we all felt a part. That beautiful day, a mole & his wife, a perfect beginning to their new married life.

Thank you so much for letting me join you in your tiny little wedding of 18, and for looking so fantastic too.

Venue: Burgh House & The Holly Bush, Hampstead // That chic 50s wedding dress: Lizzie Jayne

The past few weeks Emma Jane has been all over the place, photographing weddings in France & Edinburgh whilst I have had a little time to catch up with editing some beautiful weddings in the very English countryside and booking in some fantastic weddings for 2013. It’s an exciting time of year.

Ella & Sam made it into Cosmopolitan Bride’s June/July issue. It’s so exciting to see some of my photos in print in an actual magazine I’ve bought before. Thanks so much to Miranda & Cathy at Cosmo-who are most lovely.
Have a great weekend-I plan to spend it be buried under a mountain of editing!
  • A WALK AROUND PARIS

I was so excited to have been recommended by the most incredible photographer Michele M Waite, to photograph Jamie & Steven whilst honeymooning in Paris. Steven is a wedding-planning, dress-designing, cake-making, husband extraordinaire and Jamie is quite possibly the prettiest, sweetiest and most charming lady you could ever hope to meet. We walked around town drinking coffee, buying sweets and taking photos. This really is my job, but it certainly doesn’t feel like work when you’re photographing these two in your very favourite city.

  • DINNER TONIGHT..?

It’s lunchtime in London and it’s raining and grey, so I am dreaming of an evening in Crete, where we had dinner with the sunset and the shore.

It’s times like these that I am so thankful that I get to take photos for a living, meet beautifully unique people every week and have the opportunity to share one of the most memorable days of their lives with them. I’ll take all the grey and rainy days in the world for that.

Tomorrow, I get to photograph a three-day wedding in beautifully quaint Hurley and I’ve been looking forward to it all week!

  • A WEDDING IN PROVENCE

One day in Covent Garden, I met a couple quite head over heels. We spoke about their wedding, shook hands and agreed a deal. I would travel out to France for them and photograph their wedding, and they would smile and laugh all day, show me their happy ending. To Provence I went, excited, with those lovely Lavender & Rose girls, so I hope you can see what a perfect day it was, as their beautiful story unfurls.

It’s memories like these of last summer’s weddings, that bring a smile to my face. Remembering the sunshine and smiles and feeling very grateful that my job is to photograph people enjoying themselves, laughing and joking and sharing a celebration.
