WEDDING MAGAZINE FEATURES

It’s always lovely to see our weddings in print and we’re very lucky to have had three of late. The ever fantastic You & Your Wedding magazine featured two of my weddings in their September/October issue. Thank you Julia, for the beautifully written features!

First up was Lisa & Rory’s detail-filled Olde Bell wedding in Hurley…

I’m not really one for testimonials, but Lisa’s comment is exactly what I’ve been trying to achieve over the past three years. It made me proud as punch. “I wanted really soft, warm photographs with natural light and Chloé Browne went above and beyond all weekend long… She seemlessly blended in with our guests – everyone thought she was just a really good friend who happened to like taking a lot pictures! That, to me, is what makes a fantastic wedding photographer.” I did send her chocolate, but I’d like to think that this was true, irrespective of the edible bribe.

Leo & Esme’s incredible destination wedding in St Tropez was also featured in this issue. Oh, that light… I could have died happy that day.

We also saw an extensive feature on Georgia’s planning process for her wedding in Aix-en-Provence with some invaluable tips about how to keep things running as smoothly as possible, whilst planning a wedding abroad. Hiring a planner was one of them and I couldn’t have agreed more. Kerry Bracken & her team at Lavender & Rose are worth their weight in gold!

Sunsets in the south of France seem like a distant memory with these grey London skies but autumn has brought us our fair share of pretty cosy weddings back home here in England.

There’s a lot more to come including an exciting announcement before the year is out.

~This time last week, I had just come home from a day spent at Unveiled, an event held by the British Journal of Photography in association with Wedding magazine and Hasselblad. The event was aimed at wedding photographers in the UK; those established and aspiring.

I was thrilled to be asked by the BJP to speak about my experience in the wedding photography industry and to stand up alongside Kat of the infamous RocknRoll bride, to talk about how I began Caught the Light. I absolutely love my job and feel very passionately about natural wedding photography, believing that there’s a direct correlation between valuing your product as a photographer and loving each wedding from start-to-finish. It was a great experience for me to meet some colleagues and discuss all sorts of wedding photography things. The July issue of the BJP also features a little about me in the Intelligence section. I was interviewed to discuss a bit about how important things like this blog, Facebook & increasingly Twitter, have become to me as a photographer.

So, when you get a minute, have a look at the latest issue of the BJP or better still, pick up a subscription using the discount code Unveiled. It’s a beautiful monthly and they’ve just revamped the website, so it’s cleaner and more aesthetically aware than ever.
Lastly, if you’re an aspiring or even an established wedding photographer, make sure you enter the Unveiled competition.
I’m off to Switzerland in the morning, to get ready for a wedding on Saturday. It’s been a little grey here in London over the past few days, so let’s hope Zurich has a little more sunshine to offer. I’ll be able to share last month’s destination wedding next week too-a beautiful wedding in Tuscany.
  • A SUMMER WEDDING IN TUSCANY

High on the hills of a village in Tuscany, the sun shining down behind clouds, for the intimate wedding of Liam & Nicole, two families and friends gathered round. We sat and we watched the exchanging of rings, the promise to share come what may, we clapped and we cheered and we couldn’t help but beam, on this beautiful Italian wedding day.

  • A RICHMOND ENGAGEMENT

In the summertime, when we still had lots of sunshine, Tiffany & Albert flew to London for a holiday and got in touch for a portrait session. I suggested we take their photos in Richmond and so we had a chilled out afternoon walking along the river all the way down to Petersham and back. Two perfect strangers even invited us into their beautiful house overlooking the river, to make use of their balcony. It was a calm, sweet afternoon.

  • AN AMALFI COAST WEDDING

I flew all the way to Italy, to picture these two get wed and I cried at the sheer beauty, of the sweet things this groom said. Their public declaration on the Amalfi coast that day, filled me up with so much happiness, an utterly perfect wedding in May. Just thirty of their closest friends, gathered together to witness this, four earnest hands held together closed tight, two vows and that first kiss.

Aren’t they just gorgeous? They’re so very much in love and their wedding day is going to be of internationality, with friends from all over the world. It’s also 27 degrees which should mean a welcome return of my freckles. I really can’t wait.
