A FRENCH CASTLE WEDDING

Kate & Rob are the kind of people you would describe as salt of the earth. Embracing and endearing, Emma-Jane and I felt like we’d been friends of theirs forever and with Rob’s sharp suit and Kate’s red hair, they were a treat to photograph. Two-hundred guests travelled from England & Dubai to the French town of Pierrefonds to celebrate their wedding in a huge medieval castle. It was certainly a weekend to remember.

Venue: Chateau de Pierrefonds

Thank you as always to my talented Emma-Jane for sharing this wedding with me. You, me, France and a wedding is always a very good time.

For those of you who haven’t been reading our blog for long, Emma-Jane photographed our wedding in France three years ago and I fell a little bit in love with her. Luckily for me, she agreed to join me photographing weddings all over the place a little while after I started up. We work together on larger weddings like this one but more often than not, photograph the more intimate weddings independently. We also have some other things we do together, but we’ll share a little more about that later.

This week we are mostly reading up and learning to shoot film again… We have a very exciting addition to our camera family that goes by the name of Contax.

Here’s a sneak of what I’ve been doing over the past twenty-one days.

    And a weekend in Portugal.

It’s been a very busy three weeks, but the next two are a little calmer with portraits and engagements and a lot of editing to do, before a wedding very close to my heart. I’m also going to be photographing this little beauty, our very own London Bride.

  • BUSY, BUSY, BUSY…

Over the past few weeks I have photographed six weddings and delivered eight discs, bought two sexy new lenses, redesigned my website, booked some incredible destination weddings, made some beautiful new friends and accrued an awful lot to blog.

So, here are some teasers from six of my recent weddings-there are plenty more to come.

    I love this job.

  • A RANGERS HOUSE WEDDING

You might recognise this bride from a wedding I photographed in September for her sister, with the red shoes. It turns out that style runs in the family…
I don’t think I could write enough to explain how special it really was. Not only was Sam the most besotted groom, he laughed and joked all day in his bow tie and floral shirt, whilst Ella beamed and grinned and looked amazing at their very emotional English Heritage wedding in Greenwich. It was then off to the local wine vaults for a secret dinner, decked out with candles and hand-chosen gifts for everyone.
Such beautiful people, such beautiful details, such a beautiful day. Thank you both so much for letting me record it for you; it was an absolute honour.

I knew I would love Alex & Chris when we first spoke on the phone early last year. They’re designers and run their own studio, We Three Club, so I was very excited to see how much of their personalities they would bring to their wedding and when Alex told me she’d be wearing a vintage dress, I was in. They booked me right there and then on the phone without even needing to meet me, which for me is always a huge compliment. She also totally out-quiffed me with her gorgeous hair, scoring an easy 10/10 in the style stakes.

  • TRULY GRATEFUL

I am always enamoured with nights like this one.

An evening at home with my husband, in our little London flat, sat outside under the heater on the terrace, listening to our neighbour’s winter concert, with a bottle of Oyster Bay. Feeling alive and truly grateful for life and love, forever surprised at how sweet London can be.

It’s been a phenomenal start to the year. I am already overwhelmed by what’s in store, but overwhelmed in the best way possible.
