AN AIX-EN-PROVENCE WEDDING

It is always special photographing a wedding day, but sometimes a little bit even more special when the bride is a wedding blogger who also happens to be exceptionally lovely and is marrying her husband under a bright blue sky. Nick & Georgia flew me to France to photograph their wedding weekend in Provence at Chateau Grimaldi and for this, I am eternally grateful.

 

Thank you so much to you both for having me as your wedding photographer and for treating me as a guest at both of your weddings. It was such a privilege to spend those days with you and I’m utterly overwhelmed by all of your incredible gratitude. You really are the sweetest.

Some Arabic was learnt, pronunciation attempted, some photos were taken and our pockets were emptied. We ate and we wandered, for a few days we stayed, we were still for a moment and these memories we made.

  • A WEDDING IN ZURICH

    I am very lucky to be able to photograph weddings such as these. Sweet, intimate and so full of love and smiles. It also happened to be in Zürich, a city I had not visited until July. I think I’m in love with Switzerland.

    Getting ready together, they were both the picture of calm…

    …with a little edge of excitement.

    Swiss civil ceremonies last just fifteen minutes, even when in French and English, which leaves plenty of time for tea and sightseeing on vintage trams…

    There is something so special about grandparents. This lady reminded me of my own grandma and squeezed my hand and beamed when she caught my eye. She also had the cutest granddaughter who was not in the least bit fatigued by the blazing sunshine.

    Thanh has a passion for all things culinary and gave everyone tiny kitchen utensils as gifts.

    Isn’t she just the sweetest little thing?

    After our trip to Switzerland, we’ve decided that one day we’ll move to Zürich and have lunch by the lake on Sundays with our new friends Thanh & Yvan. It’s a truly beautiful place; fresh and clean and content.

    I still have a lot of editing to catch up on and a few more weddings and portraits to do before the year is out. I’m quite sad to see the autumn leaves on the ground but glad to have time to catch up on things through winter. It’s been a year of big changes, exciting challenges and huge rewards, but there’s a little more on all of that later.

    Two teenage sweethearts fall in love, at fifteen they share their first kiss. They promise to be together forever and pledge to stay true to this. Fast forward ten years, a ring she now wears, a wedding at Sheldon Manor they plan. On the twenty-third of June, another kiss is had and a lady makes a husband of her man.   • DINNER TONIGHT..?

    It’s lunchtime in London and it’s raining and grey, so I am dreaming of an evening in Crete, where we had dinner with the sunset and the shore.

    It’s times like these that I am so thankful that I get to take photos for a living, meet beautifully unique people every week and have the opportunity to share one of the most memorable days of their lives with them. I’ll take all the grey and rainy days in the world for that.

    Tomorrow, I get to photograph a three-day wedding in beautifully quaint Hurley and I’ve been looking forward to it all week!
