AN AUSTRALIAN WEDDING IN BANGALOW

A little while later in between some time on the beach, Melanie & Duncan held their wedding in Bangalow, surrounded by their nearest and dearest. The Valiant was there and so were we and it was truly lovely.

We miss you two but know that life in Sydney suits you so well and that long holidays in Europe are worth looking forward to.

This week is another busy one with lots of editing ahead; a portrait shoot for the lovely Georgia, finishing up a beautiful wedding at One Marylebone, shooting a party for my friend Rosie and photographing a very exciting secret garden gig for Matt Corby. There’s a lot to look forward to.

  • A RICHMOND ENGAGEMENT

    In the summertime, when we still had lots of sunshine, Tiffany & Albert flew to London for a holiday and got in touch for a portrait session. I suggested we take their photos in Richmond and so we had a chilled out afternoon walking along the river all the way down to Petersham and back. Two perfect strangers even invited us into their beautiful house overlooking the river, to make use of their balcony. It was a calm, sweet afternoon.

  • A FRENCH CASTLE WEDDING

    Kate & Rob are the kind of people you would describe as salt of the earth. Embracing and endearing, Emma-Jane and I felt like we’d been friends of theirs forever and with Rob’s sharp suit and Kate’s red hair, they were a treat to photograph. Two-hundred guests travelled from England & Dubai to the French town of Pierrefonds to celebrate their wedding in a huge medieval castle. It was certainly a weekend to remember.

  • THE BRITISH JOURNAL OF PHOTOGRAPHY

    I was doubly thrilled recently to have had one of my images printed in the May issue of the British Journal of Photography, to advertise an event I’ll be speaking at in London, on July 1st.

    You may be able to grab a copy of the British Journal of Photography’s May edition quickly before the June issue goes on sale. It’s a very beautiful magazine which takes a good look behind the scenes of photography and discusses the latest British photography campaigns, with insight and a discerning eye.

    At Unveiled, I’ll be being interviewed by the infamous Kat of Rocknrollbride fame, talking a little bit about my photography style and how I found a spot in the British wedding photography market. The event is supported by Hasselblad and so I’ve also been asked to trial the newest addition to the Hasselblad H range, the H4D40, before the event which I am very excited about. It’s an amazing medium format camera and I’ll even get to use it on an actual wedding too!

    The editor of Wedding magazine, Catherine Westwood will be there too, so it will be interesting to hear about the wedding industry from both her print and Kat’s online perspective.

    Any of you who have met me know how much I love to talk, but it’s still a little bit intimidating getting up in front of big groups of people; especially those industry professionals who read the BJP and look to Hasselblad as the respected brand that it is.   • A ONE MARYLEBONE LONDON WEDDING

    A handsome Brit and his American beauty on a Saturday in June last year, arrived at One Marylebone with friends and with families, said vows, gave speeches and cheered. The rain came to a holt, light streamed through the room, it really was a most beautiful sight. I saw and took photos, two cameras full of moments and they danced as I bid them goodnight.

  • MIKI | PORTRAIT OF A BRIDE

    This here is Miki. On the day of her wedding, she got dressed on a boat and it was bright and fresh and the view was so incredible. It was at this moment that I got a little bit awestruck. Isn’t she just beautiful?

    I’m not sure that there is a better place to get ready for your wedding, than right by the sea.

    I had a 4.30am start this morning for my first ever sunrise session and I’m up again at 3am for a flight to Mallorca. I am tired and I better get packing.

  9. Magic, Magic, Magic. For a while I could make excuses and dream that perhaps the reason why you took all the beautiful photos you did must be because of the magic hemisphere that you lived in. But after this wedding I have no excuses. The exact same exquisite pretty on our shores as beautifully as you do it on your own. Not to mention you are ADORABLE. Love love xo

  13. Memories aided by photos last generations and give joy to one and all. Melanie and Duncan are truly suited to each other, may their love grow over the years. To see all our extended family together in one beautiful location was priceless for me and Phil, thank you Chloe. By the way Melanie’s killer pins are inherited from her mother…her stunning shoes fit me too!
