Being commissioned to photograph a wedding in Bali was an absolute dream come true and I couldn’t be more grateful to M&E for taking me with them. Capturing this wedding at the beautiful Alila Manggis was such a privilege and watching M&E kick up their heels for their first dance had me beaming behind my camera. Those guys really know how to dance!

This week sees a return to photographing weddings with my first wedding of the year at the Langdale Chase hotel in Winderemere. I’ve never been to the Lake District before but shall be packing seventeen pairs of socks and some hiking boots to fill these London lungs with some really fresh air. • DINNER TONIGHT..?

It’s lunchtime in London and it’s raining and grey, so I am dreaming of an evening in Crete, where we had dinner with the sunset and the shore.

It’s times like these that I am so thankful that I get to take photos for a living, meet beautifully unique people every week and have the opportunity to share one of the most memorable days of their lives with them. I’ll take all the grey and rainy days in the world for that.

Tomorrow, I get to photograph a three-day wedding in beautifully quaint Hurley and I’ve been looking forward to it all week!

  • A MAUNSEL HOUSE WEDDING

A pretty weekend in Somerset, where the sky shone down so bright. A man and a woman were dressed to be married, beneath sunshine and perfect light. Four bridesmaids, three speeches, two families, one day, these two made me smile deep inside. This is the job that I love so much, picture memories of a groom and his bride.

  • ALEXANDRA & NICHOLAS’ FRENCH WEDDING

A day of smiles, excitement and laughter, two promises to hold fast and a happily ever after. Alex & Nic, their beautiful families, my cameras and I and their friends from overseas. We all came together for a most emotional day, we watched and we clapped, we sang and we swayed. It felt like a film, the band played J’ysuis Jamais Allé and it became the soundtrack to a most incredible day…

  • A RANGERS HOUSE WEDDING

You might recognise this bride from a wedding I photographed in September for her sister, with the red shoes. It turns out that style runs in the family…
I don’t think I could write enough to explain how special it really was. Not only was Sam the most besotted groom, he laughed and joked all day in his bow tie and floral shirt, whilst Ella beamed and grinned and looked amazing at their very emotional English Heritage wedding in Greenwich. It was then off to the local wine vaults for a secret dinner, decked out with candles and hand-chosen gifts for everyone.
Such beautiful people, such beautiful details, such a beautiful day. Thank you both so much for letting me record it for you; it was an absolute honour.

  • AN ODE TO 2012

Sometimes when life gets busy, it’s easy to forget, the people and the places, the dusks and the sunsets. Those days through the year when you felt your heart beat, huge smiles from new people you were quite lucky to meet. Be still for a moment, just sit and recall, reflect on the absolute beauty of it all. Life is quite frantic and at times it’s quite sad, but these are the memories that make our souls glad.

This year I’ve been invited on a number of days, with camera in hand and finger ablaze, to witness small fragments of love and sheer bliss, a sum of thirty-eight weddings and they looked a lot like this…
