OLD ROYAL NAVAL COLLEGE WEDDING

A day spent in Greenwich, at the Old Naval college, celebrating with their family and friends. The Painted Hall saw it all, from the vows to the ball and we all looked around in sheer awe.

This cool & characterful wedding is also featured over on Love My Dress right here with lots of information from the bride about her planning process. I love that Love My Dress go into such detail, which is so helpful for those still in the planning stages. I particularly loved Zoe’s Wedded Words of Wisdom to plan and then just let go and enjoy it all. She really made quite the perfect bride.

Venue: Old Royal Naval College, London Greenwich // Dress: Candy Anthony // Birdcage Veil & Headpiece: Gillian Million // Shoes: Glitter slingbacks at Kate Spade // Make-up: Rebecca McMahon // Flowers: Rebel Rebel // Stationery: BerinMade // Wedding Cake: Daisy Cakes // Photobooth: The Mighty Booth // Band: The Flip Flop Floozies // DJ: Wedding Smashers //

After a long weekend spent eating our way around the Cornish coastline, this is yet another great week with one pretty country wedding, two days shooting engagements, three wedding albums to design and woefully, at least four hours buried in accounts. I love being self-employed but slaving away on spreadsheets is my least favourite thing. You can keep up with all my latest over on Instagram which I am absolutely addicted to (but no photos of spreadsheets, I promise).

Up next on the blog, we’re heading back to Paris for a very elegant portrait session for two. Think Steve & Jamie, an incredible dress and a little eiffel tower too…

  • A NOTE TO YOU, WINTER

When it’s cold and it’s cloudy and the sun sets in the day, and it’s too dark too early and snow’s on it’s way, you declare you hate winter and you’ll move to warmer climes and spend the rest of your days living in summertime… and then there are these two and they marry in London town and the sun makes it’s debut just before it’s heading down, and suddenly everything is really quite fine and you decide to wait it out until that Great British springtime.

I have quite a love-hate relationship with winter, which mostly lies heavily on the hate side of things. The cold and the frost and the dusting off the faux fur and the boots and the heater and the dark at 3pm… and then just when you think you’ve had enough, there are daffodils and afternoon rays and that one sunny morning where you got your freckles back.

I’m photographing my first spring wedding of the year this afternoon and I couldn’t be more excited. I’ve taken a few weeks out lately to spend time with my family and have also squeezed in time for a few film family portrait sessions, with a little help from my new best friends at UK Film Lab. I’ve also had time to catch up on all the things I leave til winter, like kissing friends’ brand new babies and reading Vanity Fair… Maybe winter isn’t quite as bad as I like to make out.

  • PORTRAITS IN PARIS

An afternoon in Paris and a walk around the city, with a rather handsome husband & a wife who’s oh-so-pretty. We stopped & we paused and we laughed & had fun and just before we finished up, we were kissed by the sun.

  • IN THE PAST MONTH

…we have flown 9475km, driven 3750km, spent 17 nights in 10 different hotels, squeezed 14 newly weds, cried at 7 weddings, sat on 6 planes, spoken four different languages (at questionable degrees of fluency), travelled with three different loved ones as dutiful assistants and are now two very happy and grateful photographers. It’s been one really busy past month, but it’s also been so worth it.

Here’s a little look at what we’ve been up to.

My first wedding in Amalfi, for two very beautiful people…

An engagement session in Paris for the gorgeous Janice & Michael…

Followed by their intimate wedding in Provence…

This glamorous wedding near Dijon for the very dapper Nicolas & the exceptional Alexandra…

And I finished up in España with elegant Alia & dashing Pierre’s fantastic wedding in Spain…

It has been a beyond beautiful month for us both and it looks like it’s set to last. We’re off to two lovely weddings in Ascot & Wiltshire today, a little bit closer to home.

Have a lovely weekend one and all and an especially happy anniversary to you, Husband.

Three years of marriage and you’re still here! I love you immensely. x
