TRULY GRATEFUL

I am always enamoured with nights like this one.

An evening at home with my husband, in our little London flat, sat outside under the heater on the terrace, listening to our neighbour’s winter concert, with a bottle of Oyster Bay. Feeling alive and truly grateful for life and love, forever surprised at how sweet London can be.

It’s been a phenomenal start to the year. I am already overwhelmed by what’s in store, but overwhelmed in the best way possible.

Earlier on this year whilst on holiday in California, I travelled home via San Francisco for a meeting with these two. Nancy works with textiles and has an incredible eye for design and all things beautiful and when you talk to her, she gives you the impression of always being on the verge of bursting into laughter. Chic, cheeky & in my eyes, utterly amazing.

I was so happy to have met them both before their wedding in Crete in June this year but even happier that the next place we met, was the night before their wedding, with all of their guests, for dinner by the sea…

  • A TRIP TO CAPE TOWN

A couple of months ago, we went to Cape Town, for Richard & Sanchia’s wedding and decided to make a really good holiday of it. On our first day, we rushed down to a beach bar to have cocktails in the setting sun with the very lovely Emma Norén and her handsome Ricky.

This is my first photo taken with her beautiful Rolleiflex-there’s something sweet about taking a photographer’s photo. Emma photographed our wedding last year and for that, I adore her. We had so much organised for when we visited Cape Town, looking back at all the photos, I am amazed we fitted it all in.

I can’t take credit for that one that my husband took as I was
actually in the water, in a cage, barking like a seal.

I’m now off away again for a few days, this time to Sicily to eat, sleep and take photos. Then I’m back to work on two weddings next week, in Covent Garden and the country. It’s going to be a really good week.
  • A WEDDING AT SHELDON MANOR

Two teenage sweethearts fall in love, at fifteen they share their first kiss. They promise to be together forever and pledge to stay true to this. Fast forward ten years, a ring she now wears, a wedding at Sheldon Manor they plan. On the twenty-third of June, another kiss is had and a lady makes a husband of her man. It rains and it showers and umbrellas are opened, as are the hearts of these two. We smile and we swoon because we’re all pretty privileged, to witness Clare & Rich say that they do…

  • A SUMMERHOUSE WEDDING IN W9

This intimate London affair made me realise just how quickly two perfect strangers can become your friends. I had a beautiful day at Lynda & Blair’s Maida Vale wedding, starting off in Paddington, listening to The XX in the car on the way to the ceremony with the girls, a colourful canal boat ride to Little Venice and a very crafty reception at the bright and beautiful Summerhouse. It rained & shone all day long and everyone pulled together for a little adventure. It was truly a treat.

  • A RANGERS HOUSE WEDDING

You might recognise this bride from a wedding I photographed in September for her sister, with the red shoes. It turns out that style runs in the family…
I don’t think I could write enough to explain how special it really was. Not only was Sam the most besotted groom, he laughed and joked all day in his bow tie and floral shirt, whilst Ella beamed and grinned and looked amazing at their very emotional English Heritage wedding in Greenwich. It was then off to the local wine vaults for a secret dinner, decked out with candles and hand-chosen gifts for everyone.
Such beautiful people, such beautiful details, such a beautiful day. Thank you both so much for letting me record it for you; it was an absolute honour.

  • THE PERFECT ELOPEMENT

I often get asked what my best ever wedding was to photograph. I think people expect me to say ‘the one at Westminster Abbey’ or ‘the little one in Italy’, when really my most favourite weddings, however cliché, are the ones that are all about love. Venues are chic and expensive dresses are beautiful, but give me a couple happy and in love and I couldn’t ask for anything more. These two individuals decided to elope. They chose a place where they could exchange their vows and spend the weekend, calm and content. They chose their outfits, the day for their promises and then they chose me. I really couldn’t be more grateful sharing days like these.

  1. Love this photo, so warm and gorgeous! I’m thankful too for having met you last year, you’re such an amazing photographer and an inspiration to me! Keep up the fabulous work. x

  2. A wonderful picture! Looks like it was a brilliant night. Best wishes for 2011.

  3. I wish I had a flat to have parties like that! Not quite the same scenario when you are staring out at your downstairs neighbours garden with rubbish and broken trampolines in it ;) You deserve to be here – you are one talented lady and I love your work. Can’t wait to see what you do this year. Mega x
