A SUMMER WEDDING IN TUSCANY

High on the hills of a village in Tuscany, the sun shining down behind clouds, for the intimate wedding of Liam & Nicole, two families and friends gathered round. We sat and we watched the exchanging of rings, the promise to share come what may, we clapped and we cheered and we couldn’t help but beam, on this beautiful Italian wedding day.

Venue: Montestigliano //  Planner: White Avenue // Design by Feuersenger // Hair & Make Up by Linda Öhrström // Groom’s Suit by Hardy Amies // Bow tie by Marwood London // Film Scans by my favourite UK Film Lab.

It is always an absolute pleasure to be able to witness such a beautiful celebration but even more so when the individuals are as cool as these two. Liam is a photographer & Nicole a graphic designer, and there’s even a baby Bergin on the way!

Up next is a pretty London Greenwich wedding at the Old Royal Naval College.

…we have flown 9475km, driven 3750km, spent 17 nights in 10 different hotels, squeezed 14 newly weds, cried at 7 weddings, sat on 6 planes, spoken four different languages (at questionable degrees of fluency), travelled with three different loved ones as dutiful assistants and are now two very happy and grateful photographers. It’s been one really busy past month, but it’s also been so worth it.

Here’s a little look at what we’ve been up to.

It has been a beyond beautiful month for us both and it looks like it’s set to last. We’re off to two lovely weddings in Ascot & Wiltshire today, a little bit closer to home.

Three years of marriage and you’re still here! I love you immensely. x

  • A BORDEAUX CHATEAU WEDDING

One cool, cloudy day in September, Alana & Anthony were wed. I boarded a flight for their wedding in France, it was going to be rad, they had said. For an intimate outdoor wedding, from Australia they all flew, she beamed and she laughed and she didn’t stop smiling and Anthony was pretty chuffed too.

  • A WEDDING IN PORTUGAL

Jess & Ludge got married in April this year in Lourinha, Portugal and I was so grateful to have been there. Friends and family flew from Sydney, London and Paris to celebrate and it made for a beautiful reunion.

The evening before, everyone met up for a chat and a catch up, this time in a tiny old village. We stood outside in the street, laughing and talking whilst the sun set and the bar next door sold glasses of wine for 30¢. This is the tiny village that Ludgero grew up in.

Early the next morning, I headed out to photograph Jess getting ready with her mum, in a lovely bright hotel room. My favourite.

  • A JUBILANT JUNE

The middle of the year is always the best, bare legs with picnics on the heath for a rest. A trip to Tuscany to spend time with these two, as they wed at an altar with a beautiful view. Two more pretty weddings, so much light and good cheer and the sun setting late at this time of year. Twelve months more marriage tucked under our belt, we wrap presents, write cards to pen things that we’ve felt. Sometimes we party with our family and friends or travel to an island where the sea never ends. This year we did both and we found a new home, London bricks & mortar to call our very own. A jubiliant June it really has been, an excellent first half of my twenty fourteen.
