AN AMALFI COAST WEDDING

I flew all the way to Italy, to picture these two get wed and I cried at the sheer beauty, of the sweet things this groom said. Their public declaration on the Amalfi coast that day, filled me up with so much happiness, an utterly perfect wedding in May. Just thirty of their closest friends, gathered together to witness this, four earnest hands held together closed tight, two vows and that first kiss.

Thank you both Nicola & Simon, for letting me be there on your wedding day, for opening up yourselves so beautifully and for saying the nicest things I’ve ever heard.

It’s been an exceptionally busy summer so far, full of incredible days spent with total strangers, having the best days of their lives. This really is my dream job. Up next is a very sweet little wedding in Hampstead’s Burgh House I photographed back in April when there was sunshine. Do you remember those days..?

  • A BUSY THREE WEEKS

    Here’s a sneak of what I’ve been doing over the past twenty-one days.

    Some portraits in Paris…

    Back to London for some pre-wedding photos on Columbia Road…

    A walk along the river after a wedding at St Paul’s…

    And a weekend in Portugal.

    It’s been a very busy three weeks, but the next two are a little calmer with portraits and engagements and a lot of editing to do, before a wedding very close to my heart. I’m also going to be photographing this little beauty, our very own London Bride.

  • A NOTE TO YOU, WINTER

    When it’s cold and it’s cloudy and the sun sets in the day, and it’s too dark too early and snow’s on it’s way, you declare you hate winter and you’ll move to warmer climes and spend the rest of your days living in summertime… and then there are these two and they marry in London town and the sun makes it’s debut just before it’s heading down, and suddenly everything is really quite fine and you decide to wait it out until that Great British springtime.

    I have quite a love-hate relationship with winter, which mostly lies heavily on the hate side of things. The cold and the frost and the dusting off the faux fur and the boots and the heater and the dark at 3pm… and then just when you think you’ve had enough, there are daffodils and afternoon rays and that one sunny morning where you got your freckles back.

    I’m photographing my first spring wedding of the year this afternoon and I couldn’t be more excited. I’ve taken a few weeks out lately to spend time with my family and have also squeezed in time for a few film family portrait sessions, with a little help from my new best friends at UK Film Lab. I’ve also had time to catch up on all the things I leave til winter, like kissing friends’ brand new babies and reading Vanity Fair… Maybe winter isn’t quite as bad as I like to make out.

  3. Ohhhh! I’ve been waiting for this one since photographing Nicola for her business last year! Doesn’t she look just gorgeous! Love the dress, the flowers, and ohh the location… sigh.   10. I knew from your sneak peek a few weeks back that this wedding would have been divine and it certainly was! What a gorgeous day and such a beautiful couple. As strange as it seems, my favourite pictures are the ones of the bride and her father, and particularly the one where they hold hands in the car. That short journey to the ceremony has such a deep meaning, as it represents the last few moments your father has his baby all to himself… I love the fact that you have captured it and the attention you have for such small, but meaningful, details.

  12. Utterly beautiful. You truly took me away to sunnier climes for a few minutes there! Spectacular backdrop for the gorgeous couple portraits and those flowers look like pink fluffy clouds. Adore the b&w shots particularly – so timeless. What a wonderful wedding x
