AN AMALFI COAST WEDDING

I flew all the way to Italy, to picture these two get wed and I cried at the sheer beauty, of the sweet things this groom said. Their public declaration on the Amalfi coast that day, filled me up with so much happiness, an utterly perfect wedding in May. Just thirty of their closest friends, gathered together to witness this, four earnest hands held together closed tight, two vows and that first kiss.

Thank you both Nicola & Simon, for letting me be there on your wedding day, for opening up yourselves so beautifully and for saying the nicest things I’ve ever heard.

Venue: Gran Convento, Amalfi // Planners:  The Amalfi Experience // Those Shoes: Dolce & Gabbana // Wedding videographers: The lovely Clark & Palmer boys

It’s been an exceptionally busy summer so far, full of incredible days spent with total strangers, having the best days of their lives. This really is my dream job. Up next is a very sweet little wedding in Hampstead’s Burgh House I photographed back in April when there was sunshine. Do you remember those days..?

Last month I photographed a total of seven incredible weddings. I travelled back and forth to France for five of them, and I also got the chance to photograph two beautiful British weddings back home, on those rare few days of sunshine… It’s been a really busy month, so it’s been hard keeping up with blogging as well as shooting and editing, meetings and emails, but here’s a little look at what we’ve been doing.

Nicki & John’s rather royal wedding at Ashridge…

A very private wedding in St Tropez…

Alana & Anthony’s intimate wedding at the chic Chateau de la Couronne

  • LATELY…

…I have been seeing a lot of the sea.

An intimate wedding in Mallorca and an engagement session in Brighton has made it an exceptionally good week. Both had sunshine and couples really very much in love.

Today I’m going to be far away from the sea in the Great British city of London, photographing a wedding where Shakespeare used to wet his whistle. It’s raining and grey but I always feel like weddings are so much bigger than the weather. Two beautiful people are today committing themselves to each other, for life. Their friends and family will witness it all, smiling, laughing, drinking champagne, we’ll all eat cake, dance and celebrate. Really then, who cares if it rains?

  • DINNER TONIGHT..?

It’s lunchtime in London and it’s raining and grey, so I am dreaming of an evening in Crete, where we had dinner with the sunset and the shore.

It’s times like these that I am so thankful that I get to take photos for a living, meet beautifully unique people every week and have the opportunity to share one of the most memorable days of their lives with them. I’ll take all the grey and rainy days in the world for that.

Tomorrow, I get to photograph a three-day wedding in beautifully quaint Hurley and I’ve been looking forward to it all week!

  • A HUMANIST WEDDING

A wedding in September, in a field beneath a tree, a couple stands amongst their friends, and vow into the breeze. To love one another and to cherish, to have and to hold forever tight, the band sings stay with me, I’ll stay with you, and we’re warmed by the sunlight.

A more perfect day I could never have dreamt, so I framed these memories, of that late summer day, of Matt and of Jess, and their glorious, humanist ceremony.

  • A NONSUCH MANSION WEDDING

Laura & Andy were one of my very first bookings at the beginning of the year and I knew immediately that we’d get on really well. They’re both into swing dance and wanted something individual for their wedding day, so they chose to get married at Nonsuch Mansion, which is a truly beautiful Surrey venue, if you happen to be looking for one.

I had such a great day with Laura & Andy and their cool bridesmaids, I came away having made some great new friends, with a new addicition to her Frock N Roll Vintage blog. The staff at Nonsuch Mansion are fantastic too. I was served a hot three-course meal and a whole bottle of wine (which being the consummate professional, I didn’t touch!) It was possibly the best venue that I’ve had the pleasure of working at, all year.

This wedding was also featured on Kat’s ever-inspiring blog,  Rock N Roll Bride today, so head on over to read a little more about Laura & Andy’s planning and inspiration.

  • A SUMMER WEDDING IN TUSCANY

High on the hills of a village in Tuscany, the sun shining down behind clouds, for the intimate wedding of Liam & Nicole, two families and friends gathered round. We sat and we watched the exchanging of rings, the promise to share come what may, we clapped and we cheered and we couldn’t help but beam, on this beautiful Italian wedding day.

  1. Ohhhh! I’ve been waiting for this one since photographing Nicola for her business last year! Doesn’t she look just gorgeous! Love the dress, the flowers, and ohh the location… sigh. 2. wow, what an amazing place, in both the day and evening. I love your photos of the coast (and the bride of course), just perfect!

  3. I knew from your sneak peek a few weeks back that this wedding would have been divine and it certainly was! What a gorgeous day and such a beautiful couple. As strange as it seems, my favourite pictures are the ones of the bride and her father, and particularly the one where they hold hands in the car. That short journey to the ceremony has such a deep meaning, as it represents the last few moments your father has his baby all to himself… I love the fact that you have captured it and the attention you have for such small, but meaningful, details.
    Come sempre, bellissimo!
