AN ASYLUM PECKHAM WEDDING

A wedding at the Asylum filled with character and life where two individuals become husband and wife. A bride named Africa and her very handsome groom, gather all of their favourite people in a vast and meaningful room. They stand and they vow to honour and hold close, witnessed by all of the people whom they love the most. And so there are kisses and champagne celebrations, on this wonderful day full of life & jubilation.

I had been desperate to photograph a wedding at the Asylum for the longest while, so when my friend Africa got in touch to enquire, I couldn’t have been more thrilled – not only to be photographing her beautiful face and family but also to be able to photograph a wedding in such a cool and unusual space. Their wedding has also been featured in the brilliant You & Your Wedding’s March & April 2017 issue, here below. Thank you team You & Your Wedding for featuring Africa before her wedding day and too for this lovely write-up of their wedding celebration.

This weekend sees the beginning of my 2017 weddings, starting at the lovely Islington Town Hall who are always so gracious to photographers, trusting us to work with discretion but without restriction, which is what we do best. I’m so looking forward to this spring and summer’s weddings and some warmth on these old winter bones. Up next, we’re going to central London for a Dartmouth House wedding for a gorgeous bride and groom and then perhaps to Aix-en-Provence for another al fresco celebration and some Vera Wang… There’s a lot of catching up to do!

  • A WEDDING AT ONE MARYLEBONE

Kate & Tom were the first clients I met after a long flight home from Australia in January. We had a drink at The Alice House and talked for hours and I knew before I’d left, that we had become friends. Their wedding was just beautiful. Kate shone, Tom grinned, they both said I do and I cried just a little bit, from the sheer love of it all.

  • A UNION CLUB SOHO WEDDING

One day in October, in the centre of town, Amy & Duncan got ready, arrived and said vows. Before friends and their family, their loved ones and mates, they made a promise of union and an unending date. They kissed and we clapped, a tear may have been shed, they drank and they laughed, as do newlyweds. An evening of celebration and of wishing them well, my hundred or so favourites, their short story they tell.

  • A BRIDES MAGAZINE FEATURE

I don’t think I would have believed a little over two years ago, that I would ever have a job that I love this much. I get to meet people who trust me to photograph their beautiful weddings, full of love and laughter and tears and then, magazines ask me for those photos. I get to see my work in print. My photos sit on coffee tables, get stuffed in handbags, stuck in scrap books, but most importantly, printed and framed and put on walls to remind people of their beautiful memories.

Here is a recent publish of Tori & Oli’s most amazing wedding last summer.

It’s in the most recent copy of Brides magazine, which made me gasp at the shelf at WH Smiths and frantically buy two copies; one for me and one for Tori. She writes a blog called Wellies & Vogue and this is Conde Nast’s bridal title. It made me proud as punch, chuffed to pieces. I’m grinning from ear to ear right now.

Thank you to all of the lovely ladies at Brides, who featured Tori & Oli’s wedding, as I know that they themselves are thrilled. Thank you Tori, Oli, Deborah, Hannah, Lucy and Dominique. This one here means more than I can really even begin to explain.
