Home House Wedding photography

Wedding reception venue: Home House, London // Dress: Custom Erdem

When I sat down with Shaunie to discuss her wedding plans, I couldn’t have been more excited by her energy, enthusiasm and their idea of a simply stylish London wedding at Home House. I distinctly remember her telling me that she trusted me implicitly to take the photos she wanted, the biggest vote of confidence I could ask for. Home House was the perfect setting for their spring wedding reception and beautiful entourage of family and friends, followed by some of the most heartfelt speeches I have ever heard (and I’ve heard a lot!) and it really was such a memorable day.

This past week has been a bit of a flurry with a beautiful wedding at The Grand Conservatory at Syon House and a weekend in Paris to photograph some portraits. As the weather warms up, things are getting busier with lots to edit and share. If you’re on Instagram, you can follow along behind-the-scenes, here.

  • A HAYMARKET HOTEL WEDDING

I photographed Lia & Gerald’s wedding exactly one month ago today, at London’s chic and vba was so elegant in her sophisticated dress and vintage jewelry and was such a pleasure to photograph with those beautiful smiling eyes. Gerald’s dapper suit perfectly matched his debonair swagger – he looked to me as if he had just wandered out of the Rat Pack…

I loved each and every one of the twelve hours I spent at this wedding, so thank you both for choosing me to share it with you.
Tomorrow I am going on an adventure to a small island called Samsø in Denmark, to photograph what is going to be a very intimate Danish / English wedding. I absolutely cannot wait.
  • A FRENCH RIVIERA BEACH WEDDING

It was a dream to photograph a wedding on the Cote d’azur and I was so lucky to have met these two lovelies and to have shared a very beautiful weekend with all of their important people. Elegant, sophisticated, a day full of friends and laughter, Miki and Tom held their wedding on the French riviera at L’Ecrin beach restaurant in Cannes. I think you’ll agree, it was a little bit gorgeous.

  • A RUFFLED BLOG FEATURE

I knew I would love Alex & Chris when we first spoke on the phone early last year. They’re designers and run their own studio, We Three Club, so I was very excited to see how much of their personalities they would bring to their wedding and when Alex told me she’d be wearing a vintage dress, I was in. They booked me right there and then on the phone without even needing to meet me, which for me is always a huge compliment. She also totally out-quiffed me with her gorgeous hair, scoring an easy 10/10 in the style stakes.

  • BUSY, BUSY, BUSY…

Over the past few weeks I have photographed six weddings and delivered eight discs, bought two sexy new lenses, redesigned my website, booked some incredible destination weddings, made some beautiful new friends and accrued an awful lot to blog.

So, here are some teasers from six of my recent weddings-there are plenty more to come.

    I love this job.

  • A ONCE WED FEATURE

I had both the lovely Emily at Once Wed and the incredibly cool Kat at RockNRollBride both write beautiful features on my most recent wedding. I will admit that I thought this would be a popular one when I spoke to Ella about Sam’s suit and pried some details from her about that dress. I didn’t know though, that she was going to look as amazing as she did, nor that there would be a surprise song during the wedding…

It’s always excellent when I have my work featured, but to have a double post between the US and the UK was really exciting. I know a lot of my ideal brides look to Once Wed for inspiration, as do I as a photographer, so it’s been great to organise meets with a whole new audience. I have an exceptionally busy next few weeks on my hands!

Thank you both, for your beautiful posts.
  • THERE’S SOMETHING ABOUT MARY

Mary and I first met at an event organised for wedding professionals to meet and get to know their colleagues and she had on the best hat I’d ever seen. When she asked me for a portrait session, I hoped she’d be wearing another brilliant hat. We met at a sweet little cafe for coffee and a chat and I even got to meet the charming, Samson.

I do love this kind of portraiture and if you think you would benefit from some casual photos like these for your business or even just because, don’t hesitate to get in touch. I have some autumnal portraits to do in the upcoming weeks, but there is room for one or two more.

I know I said something about a beautiful Swiss wedding and it is absolutely coming, I promise. I just have to get through a wedding tomorrow in Dorset and finish an edit on Sunday and then it’s up. There’s still so much editing to be done before my winter hibernation!
