A HUMANIST WEDDING IN SURREY

When you’re invited for lunch with a soon bride-to-be and she shows you her beautiful home, you talk through her plans and quickly it feels like she’s someone you’ve always known. A captivating couple, with plans so exciting, you have an idea this might well be, a day to remember in the middle of summer, James and Marina, I salute thee.

This woodland wedding really was a highlight of my year. With all that light and a couple so in love, what more could I have asked for? This beautiful wedding is also making a debut over on the spectacular Snippet & Ink, where Marina has written a little about their day.

So far this year I’ve photographed four weddings and I have another two to come this weekend. Spring is here, we’re having breakfast in the garden and the flat is full of daffodils. Life really couldn’t be better.

AN INTIMATE CAPE TOWN WEDDING

I met Sanchia three years ago, working as a hairdresser in Camden. She was the first hairdresser to tell me that my thick and unruly hair was actually beautiful and instantly, we were friends. Together, Sanchia & Richard are a truly fantastic couple; large-hearted, vivacious and very, very stylish, so I was privileged to photograph their intimate garden ceremony in Cape Town, South Africa whilst there on holiday last month.

This is Oupa-he’s 93 years old, survived world war II and
the entire family adores him.

Thank you Sanch & Rich for a beautiful time in Cape Town. I love you both.

A GREEN PARK ENGAGEMENT

Megan & Nathan are two very lovely friends of mine and so I couldn’t be happier to be photographing their London wedding this afternoon. Megan is the nicest person and Nathan is both kind and generous and really makes her giggle, so today is guaranteed to be beautiful. Nathan proposed with a bottle of vintage champagne on the deck chairs in Green Park, which made it a particularly special spot to return to for their pre-wedding photos.

A JUBILANT JUNE

The middle of the year is always the best, bare legs with picnics on the heath for a rest. A trip to Tuscany to spend time with these two, as they wed at an altar with a beautiful view. Two more pretty weddings, so much light and good cheer and the sun setting late at this time of year. Twelve months more marriage tucked under our belt, we wrap presents, write cards to pen things that we’ve felt. Sometimes we party with our family and friends or travel to an island where the sea never ends. This year we did both and we found a new home, London bricks & mortar to call our very own. A jubiliant June it really has been, an excellent first half of my twenty fourteen.

A HAYMARKET HOTEL PREVIEW…

A quick sneak of L&G’s wedding on Saturday at the ever-so-London Haymarket Hotel. I had to steal them outside and away from the crowd for a couple of minutes, before they got hauled back inside for the party!

I now have a mountain of editing ahead of me this week and then it’s off for some much-needed southern hemisphere sunshine!
A CHAVENAGE HOUSE WEDDING

I fell a little bit in love with Philippa & James, during our engagement session in the summertime. Philippa is stylish and poised and has the coolest wry smile that I absolutely loved photographing, so I was certain that their Cotswolds wedding in July was going to be a treat.
