One day in October, in the centre of town, Amy & Duncan got ready, arrived and said vows. Before friends and their family, their loved ones and mates, they made a promise of union and an unending date. They kissed and we clapped, a tear may have been shed, they drank and they laughed, as do newlyweds. An evening of celebration and of wishing them well, my hundred or so favourites, their short story they tell.
A pretty weekend in Somerset, where the sky shone down so bright. A man and a woman were dressed to be married, beneath sunshine and perfect light. Four bridesmaids, three speeches, two families, one day, these two made me smile deep inside. This is the job that I love so much, picture memories of a groom and his bride.
One day in Covent Garden, I met a couple quite head over heels. We spoke about their wedding, shook hands and agreed a deal. I would travel out to France for them and photograph their wedding, and they would smile and laugh all day, show me their happy ending. On a calm afternoon in Paris you can walk along for miles, you can stroll past the sights, you can stop for a while. We sauntered and we chatted, that afternoon in May, I edged them into nice light and at the end of the day, I waved them goodbye and wished them bonne chance, au revoir for a week… til their wedding in Provence.
